5 must-have pieces for Autumn

It’s officially ‘chilly’ and you’ve got a bit of loan left. Your clothes from last winter look tired and boring, and you want so badly to be part of the latest trends. Thinking of doing your reading this evening? Think again.

What Autumn evening is complete without a cosy jumper to snuggle up in after an evening stroll? This roll neck knit from Asda is only £14 and will inject some colour into what can often be a dark and monotonous Autumn wardrobe.

Wide leg trousers

Nothing screams sophistication like a wide leg trouser. They’re so versatile, suited to anything – lectures, brunch, dossing about the house, a must-have piece, especially as the weather cools and your denim cut-offs just won’t cover it (quite literally). I love the print on these Boohoo ones, and the paper bag waist is so flattering!

Printed Midi skirt

As the temperature drops, so do hemlines. From mini to midi, we still want to keep a little of that bronze summer skin showing. If you’ve got one from summer, bring it into Autumn with some layering. And with prints a big trend for this season yet again, try a fun pattern to make your outfit really stand out. The slit on this New Look piece makes sure you can show a little more of that hard-earned tan too.

“All you need is a light Jacket

It’s not quite coat weather but it’s nowhere near warm enough to bare your arms any more. Enter, the humble cord jacket. Buy a few sizes larger than your norm for a cute oversized look if you fancy – plus it means it’s easier to layer when it gets a little chillier! This one from Pull & Bear on ASOS is the perfect colour, it will go with everything and it’s less than £30!

Cargo trousers

I adore the utility trend that seems to be taking over catwalks and stores alike. So comfy and practical yet stylish now too! A pair of cargo-style trousers will be a staple piece in my wardrobe this season. Pair with a boxy fit crop top for a casual look or even one of those elusive ‘nice tops’ for a night out. I love that this pair from Boohoo come in a few colours, so choose whichever suits you!
