August activities for couples in Lincoln.
If you’re lucky enough to still be in Lincoln with your bae over the summer, you might be looking for things to do to fill the time before lectures begin again. Lincoln has lots of events throughout the summer that are great for couples, and here are some to look out for.
Go to the farmers’ market.
Lincoln has a regular farmers’ market that not only sells fresh produce but cooked food and sweet treats as well. Why not pick up the ingredients for a meal and then cook together? There are farmers’ markets on August 11 on the high street and August 19 on castle hill.
Learn how to fight like a knight.
On August 10, The Collection is holding a workshop to teach people how to fight like a medieval knight. For just £3 per person, you can learn how to hold a sword and shield over two hours in The Collections education suite. Maybe not the best activity if you're going through a rough patch, as you might have to try and resist the temptation to swing the swords at each other.
Go to a 1940s ball
On August 12 and as part of 1940s day, the County Assembly Rooms will be turned into a 1940s style ball including high tea and a three-course meal followed by dancing in the 18th-century ballroom. Tickets are £16.50 and doors open at 3 pm, make sure you dress up!
Go to a musical.
From August 22, Jekyll and Hyde the musical is coming to Lincoln Cathedral. The hit show based on the novel "The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" is on a worldwide tour and has been very well received. Tickets are available from £22, and the performances run until the 1st of September.
Go on a Ghost Bus Tour.
On August 26, you can take comfort in each other’s arms while being scared silly on a Lincoln Ghost Bus Tour. The open top bus will take you on a tour of the spookiest locations in Lincoln while telling stories of their haunted past. The tour lasts 50 minutes and tickets are £6 per person, hold each other tight!
