At the end of July I flew out with my family to Alicante for two weeks, where we stayed in an apartment an hour outside Alicante in a town called Cabo Roig. Cabo Roig had many bars and restaurants to try throughout our stay.

The beach was a 10-15 minute walk away from where we were staying and I could have spent my whole time there! The sea was beautiful and they had many activities that you could take part in. From an inflatable slide to parasailing they really covered it all! Although do remember to apply as much sun cream as you can! I applied three layers during my 3 hour stay there and still walked away with sunburn on my back and legs!

On one of the days we caught the local bus into the town centre called Torrevieja (the bus was €1.35 each!). Torrevieja was absolutely stunning and with a harbour and many restaurants with sea views there were many things to do! We found ourselves taking many photos as it makes the perfect backdrop! Whilst we were there we stumbled upon a shop called Ale-Hop which is best described as Urban Outfitters and Tiger rolled in to one. I think I probably spent a bit too much in there! The atmosphere was so relaxing and the locals were so friendly! There’s also a boulevard where they have many different shops like H&M, Vans and Pandora and most of the restaurants have outside seating which looks out onto the town. They even had a Primark much to my delight! The boulevard is great for a day out if you want to just have a wander round the shop and go and have something to eat.

On the last morning my mum and I woke up at 5:45 to go and watch the sunrise and get some pictures! I was absolutely shattered but it was so worth it! Everywhere was so quiet and the morning air was so fresh. I managed to capture some really stunning photos of the sun coming up over the palm trees and distant buildings. Definitely go to Cabo Roig and Torrevieja if you’re ever in Alicante and try and experience the sunrise. You won’t regret it!
