Destinations you can fly to from London City for less than £100 this summer.

Exams are officially over, and it’s time for a well-deserved holiday that doesn’t get us in more student debt. With London City as my local airport, here I've found five different locations I could fly to this summer for less than £100 - and hopefully, you can too!

Berlin

A return flight to Berlin can be as low as £71 (as long as you’re flexible about dates). The German capital offers numerous sights related to the history of the nation. Poignant places of interest include the Holocaust Museum and East Side Gallery - a heavily decorated kilometre of the landmark Berlin Wall. On days with good weather, visit the Garten der Welt (aka Gardens of the World) and Panoramapunkt, a coffee shop on the twenty-fourth floor of the Berlin TV Tower. The cafe offers unrivalled views of the city and an open-air exhibition about the history of Germany.

Dublin

The cost of flying to and from Dublin at just £40 is the same price as a three-course dinner for two in London. So, travelling to the capital of Southern Ireland should be at the top of your bucket-list. The city is rich with both culture and nightlife - during a visit you'll feel spoilt for choice! Highlights include Kilmainham Gaol (a jail prominent during the Anglo-Irish War), the Chester Beatty Library and the Backpacker Pub-crawl.

Amsterdam

Flights to Amsterdam vary greatly in price, but most of the time direct, return flights don’t cost more than £100. The city boasts stunning architecture from the Rijksmuseum to the neo-gothic church, De Krijtberg. Then for that signature Instagram post, stop on a bridge across the Emperor’s Canal – a cute, retro bike is optional. And of course, the added element of legal goodies is at your disposal too - anything goes in Dam!

Mallorca

Flying to Mallorca would be just one quid over your initial budget - surely a small price to pay for some sunshine? The island has over a hundred beaches, and with temperatures in their late twenties, you have the perfect excuse to laze around on the beach. If you feel like exploring, the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range offers stunning views of the sea, and if you don’t feel like hiking you can explore the mountains in a “canyoning adventure”. The full-day experience includes abseiling and diving – warning: not for the faint-hearted!

Milan

With flights from £34, it seems travelling to the fashionable city comes without a designer price tag. Stargaze from Milan’s Planetarium Civico Planetario Ulrico Hoepli, embrace the Milan lifestyle at the opulent shopping centre Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II or stroll below a landmark built by Napoleon, the Arco della Pace.

I think it’s time to get saving, London City Airport here I come!
