Worcester's Best Mexican Restaurants.

Woo town has a total of four Mexican restaurants, all of them unique in their décor and flavours. Here's what to expect from each.

El Mexicana

To sum up El Mexicana, it’s basically Subway for burritos and tacos. A great stop off point for a fast food style lunch that will both fill you up and satisfy your taste buds with that distinctive Mexican tang. You can stay and eat in their Mexican style cantina, or you can take your food to go if you’re on a busy schedule.

There is a wide selection of filling including vegetarian options, and they offer gluten options. The prices are also reasonable: a regular is £4.99, and a large is £5.99. The price includes your base (taco, burrito, salad or nachos), main filling, salsa and extra toppings like lettuce, olives or jalapenos. An added bonus to this fast food place is that it's open until 2 am Friday and Saturday in case you wanted to change up your usual late night Maccies.

30 The Cross, WR1 3PZ.

Amigos is a small gem in the heart of Worcester city centre and an independent business - the owner is the chef! The staff are very attentive and like to take a more personal approach with their customers. The décor resembles that of a traditional Mexican cantina which helps to create the authentic atmosphere. The food is fantastic yet has a home cooked feel that every student needs now and again.

41 Friar Street, WR1 2NA.

A lively place with a feel-good atmosphere, Bodega is perfect for an authentic Mexican meal or just a visit for some nibbles and a couple (or more) of their tasty cocktails. From Monday to Friday you can venture in for 2-4-1 cocktails from 4 pm to 7 pm. Mexican cuisine is known for its spicy flavours, but Bodega gives you the option to choose your spice. Whether you’re a spice lover or like it plain, they'll cater for you.

14 Foregate Street, WR1 1DB.

Chesters' main specialities are Mexican, vegan and vegetarian. Separate to the restaurant they have a bar area with a comfortable vibe. The main restaurant area is in the cellar - it sounds gloomy, but you won't feel claustrophobic as the bright colours make it feel much larger than it is. The portions are large, and the prices are reasonable, making it perfect for students. On top of that, they have a choice of over 40 different beers from around the world.

51 New Street, WR1 2DL.
