The best way to celebrate Oktoberfest in Edinburgh.

October is here already! Which means cosy nights, layering, hot drinks on the way to uni, crunchy leaves on my doorstep, and if you're from Germany, Oktoberfest. For those who don't know, Oktoberfest is a two-week annual festival in Munich, originally stemming from the celebrations of a Munich royal wedding in 1810. It is now celebrated by around six million people, with Oktoberfest celebrations being held worldwide. One place that does an amazing job at hosting these fun festivities is right here in Edinburgh.

In the heart of Edinburgh, 11th-15th of October, West Princes Street Gardens will again be 'transformed into a traditional Oktoberfest with live music and great atmosphere.'

You'll definitely feel like you've left Edinburgh for the day, surrounded by Bravian beer and German foods such as pretzels, bratwurst, and schnitzels. A German band will be playing to add to the atmosphere, and people even dress in the traditional dirndl and lederhosen! You can buy these outfits from the Oktoberfest website before you go, perfect for a laugh with all your friends.

Tickets range from £0-42 with 'general admission' all the way up to special VIP packages. It's such a fun, unique event to head over to with your uni friends and it makes for some great photos and memories. Oktoberfest in Edinburgh is not to be missed!
